Solar production looks low

Separate normal weather and household-use effects from a genuine performance issue.

Before you start

Choose a complete clear day in the app and note any visible warning or error code.

  1. 01Confirm the app has current data and check whether the inverter shows a warning, alarm or offline status.
  2. 02Compare complete clear days rather than a cloudy hour. Production changes with season, cloud, shade, panel direction and temperature.
  3. 03Remember that solar may be powering the home or charging the battery before energy is exported, so low export does not always mean low generation.
  4. 04Check whether a new load such as an EV, hot-water system, pool pump, heating or cooling was running at the time.
  5. 05If production is zero around midday in clear weather, or stays unusually low across several comparable clear days, create a ticket with daily graphs and photos of any code.

ImportantDo not climb onto the roof, clean panels from a ladder or open the inverter. Esena can review the monitoring data safely.

Safe customer checksApps, internet, visible lights and clearly labelled switches.Stop for covers, wiring, battery cables or repeated breaker resets.
