Confirm the outage is real, check battery SOC in Hinen Solar or SOLARMAN Smart and locate the labelled GRID / BACKUP changeover switch.
- 01Turn off high-load appliances such as ovens, air conditioners, pumps, kettles and electric hot water before using backup power.
- 02If your Esena handover says the changeover is customer-operated, follow the label exactly. Move the switch from GRID / NORMAL to BACKUP / INVERTER only as shown—never force it or open the switchboard.
- 03Wait for the backup circuits to energise, then use only essential appliances. The battery and backup output have limited capacity.
- 04Check Hinen Solar or SOLARMAN Smart for battery SOC, backup status and overload warnings. Do not change installer settings or repeatedly reset a breaker.
- 05When grid power returns and is stable, return the changeover to GRID / NORMAL using the labelled sequence. If the label is missing, unclear or backup does not return, call Esena on 1300 239 296.
ImportantOnly circuits connected to the Hinen backup output will operate. The exact switch positions and waiting time are installation-specific.
