Battery not charging or discharging

Check whether the behaviour is expected before treating it as a fault.

Need the Hinen monitoring app? Open the app article
Before you start

Open the live energy-flow and battery pages, and note the current battery percentage.

  1. 01Check battery state of charge, operating mode and any scheduled charge or discharge period in the app.
  2. 02For charging, confirm there is surplus solar after household use. Low solar or high home consumption can leave no excess energy for the battery.
  3. 03For discharging, check the minimum state of charge and backup reserve. The battery should normally stop at the configured reserve.
  4. 04Check time-of-use, backup, retailer or virtual power plant controls that may intentionally hold or dispatch the battery.
  5. 05Record any warning or alarm. If the behaviour continues through a clear sunny period, create a ticket with the energy-flow and battery screenshots.

ImportantBattery temperature, grid conditions and built-in protection can temporarily reduce charge or discharge power.
