Confirm the outage is real, check battery SOC and Backup Reserve in mySigen and locate the labelled GRID / BACKUP changeover switch if one is installed.
- 01Turn off high-load appliances such as ovens, air conditioners, pumps, kettles and electric hot water before using backup power.
- 02If your Esena handover says the changeover is customer-operated, follow the label exactly. Move the switch from GRID / NORMAL to BACKUP / INVERTER only as shown—never force it or open the switchboard.
- 03Wait for the backup circuits to energise, then use only essential appliances. The battery and backup output have limited capacity.
- 04Open mySigen and check battery SOC, Backup Reserve, backup status and any overload notice. Do not change Operational Mode, EMS or VPP settings during the outage.
- 05When grid power returns and is stable, return the changeover to GRID / NORMAL using the labelled sequence. If the label is missing, unclear or backup does not return, call Esena on 1300 239 296.
ImportantOnly circuits connected to the Sigenergy backup output will operate. The Gateway and changeover arrangement are installation-specific.
