Step-by-step guide
5–10 minutesSOFAR battery not charging or discharging
Use the SOFAR app to check reserve, schedules and alarms before treating the behaviour as a fault.
Need the SOFAR monitoring app? Open the app articleBefore you start
Open the SOFAR energy-flow and battery screens and note the battery percentage, operating mode and any alert.
- 01Check the battery percentage, operating mode, minimum reserve and any charge or discharge schedule shown in the app.
- 02For charging, confirm there is surplus solar after household use. Cloud, shade or high home demand can leave little or no energy available to charge the battery.
- 03For discharging, check whether the battery is holding its reserve or following a time-based, retailer or VPP control.
- 04Record any warning, alarm or temperature message and take a screenshot before changing anything.
- 05If the battery still will not charge or discharge through a clear solar period, create a ticket with the energy-flow, battery percentage and alarm screenshots.
ImportantBattery protection, temperature, reserve and schedules can temporarily limit charge or discharge. Do not change advanced SOFAR settings without Esena approval.
