Step-by-step guide
About 5 minutesWhat will work during a blackout?
Understand backup circuits, battery limits and why some appliances may remain off.
Need the Sungrow monitoring app? Open the app articleBefore you start
Have your installation handover nearby and open the app to check battery state of charge and backup status.
- 01Check the handover or switchboard labels to see which circuits are connected to backup. Do not remove a cover to find out.
- 02Only circuits connected to the backup output will normally operate. A three-phase home may have only selected phases or circuits backed up.
- 03Start with essential loads such as lights, refrigerator, internet router and selected power points. Avoid ovens, hot water, pumps, EV chargers and large air conditioners unless your handover says they are supported.
- 04Keep the battery above its backup reserve and reduce loads if the app shows an overload or low-battery warning.
- 05If a circuit you expect to be backed up is off, photograph the labels and app status. Do not move breakers or change the switchboard.
- 06Send the photos and your appliance list to Esena so the installed backup arrangement can be checked safely.
ImportantThe backup output, inverter size, battery charge and changeover arrangement determine what can run. Esena can confirm the installed circuits.
