Step-by-step guide
5–10 minutesMeter, CT or grid readings look wrong
Capture the pattern clearly so Esena can determine whether the issue is display timing, retailer data or metering configuration.
Need the Tesla monitoring app? Open the app articleBefore you start
Have your monitoring app, retailer app and a recent time available. Do not access the switchboard or meter wiring.
Tesla customer note
Tesla customers: capture the Tesla app timestamp, energy flow and any meter/Gateway alert. Do not change advanced settings.
- 01Check the app timestamp and confirm the value is live rather than an old cached reading.
- 02Record whether the arrow shows import or export and write down the solar, home, battery and grid values at the same time.
- 03Compare the same complete day in the inverter app and retailer app. Retailer interval data may be delayed and is measured at a different point.
- 04For three-phase homes, note whether the issue appears on one phase or across the combined total. Do not open the switchboard or touch CTs.
- 05Take two screenshots at least five minutes apart. If the direction is repeatedly reversed or the consumption is implausible, create a ticket for meter and CT review.
ImportantDo not change CT, meter, export-limit or grid settings. Metering changes require Esena or a qualified electrician.
